About UniModelers Process (UMP)

UniModelers Process project goals

The ultimate (long term) goals:

  1. Provide and share information about the UMP and webCollab™ tool among the software developers to improve webCollab™ tool.
  2. Provide guidance on the webCollab™ tool for the webCollab™ project's participants
  3. Form the UMP developers' / users' community
  4. Advertise & sell:
    • webCollab™ tool as a business solution and appropriate tool
    • webCollab™ service
    • UMP developers’ services by demonstrating the potential of the UMP developers

Now UMP project is at phase 3.

The goals of the phase 3 is t develop UMP webCollab™ product: Web Environment for Collaborative Software Projects. The product structure:

As of now the uni-mod.com and uni-mod.org are the different site located on different ISPs:

  • uni-mod.com (this site) is the static site, describing UniModelers Process and limited static tools -- templates, etc.
  • uni-mod.org (currently under development) should feature the dynamic content to demonstrate the webCollab™ tool and provide webCollab™ services.

Eventually the both URLs should direct on the single common website with the static and dynamic content. The UMP method should be included into the webCollab™ tool as sample project profile.

The subdomain odessa.uni-mod.com is the location of the Odessa project: the project of the development the webCollab™ tool. As of now it is the static site. In future the Odessa project should be supported by the stable version of the webCollab™ tool.

The subdomain collab.uni-mod.org is reserved for the future webCollab™ services (not available now).

Now UMP project is at phase 1.

Previous phases

Phase 1: UMP development

Goals:

  1. Provide and share information about the UMP in the UMP community
  2. Provide guidance about the UMP to the UniModelers projects participants

Phase 2: open UMP site for the software developers

Goal:

  1. Provide and share information about the UMP among the software developers to improve UMP by opening and advertising uni-mod.com site

Site's intended audience (visitors' profiles)

In phase 1 of the UMP project visitors would be specialists personally invited by UMP authors or recommended by such specialists.

Visitors' specialization

  • Software project managers
  • Software development consultants
  • Software developers

Visitors' needs:

  • To improve their projects by applying modern Software Engineering and UMP methods to their practice
  • To learn modern Software Engineering (UMP as an example) — career opportunities
  • To apply their knowledge participating to the UMP development

What UMP authors want from visitors

  • To involve visitors in UMP development
  • To get UMP critique, advice and assessments
  • To get special knowledge and skill
